ArseWEB pictures
ArseWeb is not primarily a graphics download site, but there are
some pictures around the site which you can download, and on our
ftp site. For a great range of Arsenal graphics start at the
ArseWeb Arsenal links section. In
particular afcpics.com
has alphabetical and chronological lists of the many (jpeg) pictures
available. Also see Football shirt gallery for
nice big pics of Arsenal (and other) shirts from over the years.
From the ArseWEB pages
Depending on your browser, it may be possible for you to download
any of the images you see on these pages. To do so, you need to do
the following:
- 1. Look at the HTML source file for the page (by choosing "view
source", "document source", or suchlike, from one of your browser's
menus).
- 2. Find the URL for the image you want. For example, on the HTML
source file for this page, the image tag for the Vieira picture below appears as
<img align = top src="../images/small/vieirasm.gif">
The URL is the bit in quotes after src=.
- 3. Open this URL as if it were the URL for a web page, but replace
".." (or whatever comes before the "/images/") with "http://www.arseweb.com/" For the example above this gives you "http://www.arseweb.com/images/small/vieirasm.gif".
Please note If a full pathname rather than a relative one (ie no "..")
is given in the source code, simply use this full pathname.
- 4. If you have an external viewer associated with type ".gif" on your browser set-up, your browser will load the image into that application. Otherwise it depends on your browser, you may be able to save the downloaded image to your disk.
- 5. Also, some browsers have a "save next link to disk" option, in
which case you just open the (full) URL above after selecting this option.
