Arsenal disciplinary record, 1997/98The following table lists the number of yellow and red cards received by Arsenal players during the season, as well as the number of matches missed through suspension. Note that the disciplinary rules for the Premiership have changed this season. Now it is a simple tally of bookings (5 in the first instance) which will incur suspension. Note that for disciplinary purposes a red card also counts towards automatic suspension. ie 4 yellows + 1 red incurs a suspension in addition to the suspension the red card incurs on it's own. Good behaviour (5 successive full games without being booked) earns a one card reduction. The official Arsenal web site AFCi also maintains a list of cards here, and also contains an explanation of the new disciplinary system. Check Soccernet's fair play table to see whether Arsenal can continue their form of last season. Soccernet also maintains a "Whistleblower" table which keeps a count of cards issued by each Premiership referee, and a subjective assessment of their performance.
