Classic Victories over Spurs
This DVD celebrates the passion and drama of the North London derby,
and the great feeling of a classic win.
Nine games are featured including:
- the frankly ridiculous
5-4 win at the Lane
in November 2004,
- the 3-0 home win of 2 years previously (including that
solo goal of Henry's)
- the 2-0 home win from March 2001, which came the day after the sad death of David Rocastle (and we'll always be grateful to the Spurs fans for respecting the silence that day)
- 3-1 at the Lane in May 1999, including one of Kanu's best and cheekiest moments
- 3-1 at home in Nov 96, which will always be remembered for the way Tottenham cheated to equalise, only to be thwarted by 2 special last-gasp goals featuring unforgettable contributions from 3 Arsenal legends in Adams, Bergkamp, and Wright.
- ...and those are just the ones that Arseweb reported on. Others include the 2-1 league cup semi-final replay of '87, and of course the 5-0 league game at the Lane in '78.

Untouchables - official review of the 2003-2004 season
Hardly needs any selling, this one. The unbeaten Premiership season will
go down in history, until we do it again. Relive the excitement of
oh-so-many devastating performances. But also remind yourself of the
not-so-often talked about close shaves... against Portsmouth (twice),
Fulham, and of course the last-minute penalty missed by Ruud van Mistelrooy
and the subsequent "handbaggate" shenanigans that arguably created the
indominatable team spirit that was talked about throughout the land.

Individual Matches
It's Up For Grabs Now
A title to send a shiver down the spine of any Arsenal fan. And Liverpool fans too, probably.
Now available on DVD for the first time, this is simple a must-have for any self-respecting Arsenal fan. The most exciting game in the history of domestic football....
Perhaps not the best game ever, but probably never again will
so much be riding on one game, so for it to end up with the underdogs
snatching the league in the last seconds well, it just doesn't get
any more dramatic.
The DVD also features a 20-25 minute documentary, "I Was There", which features key highlights of the game intercut with comments of players, fans, and staff who were at the game that evening (including Alan Smith, Nigel Winterburn, Michael Thomas, Lee Dixon, Georgre Graham, Kenny Dalglish, and John Aldridge). Total running time is 136 mins.
We've got a whole section about this one game, so have a look at that if you're not sure what I'm on about (as if!) for Arseweb readers' memories of the night, and for video and audio clips of the goals.
It's also, of course, the game which provides the climax to
Nick Hornby's Fever Pitch, the DVD of which is also available.

The Italian Job
One of the defining moments of the thrilling 2003-2004 season.
Following the disappointing exit to Chelsea in the quarter-final
of the Champions League, it was easy to forget how far we'd come
from such a terrible position. After 3 matches we were rooted to
the bottom of the group on a single point. Needing to win the
remaining 3 matches, another frustrating display
at
home to Dynamo Kiev was rescued at the death by Ashley Cole's
diving header. And then...
One of Europe's most fancied teams, Internazionale of Milan,
were destroyed on their home turf by an Arsenal for whom the
word rampant was surely created. Even without regulars
Vieira, Bergkamp, and Lauren, Arsenal's strength pace and determination
was too much for them. This was the match that sent shock-waves
around Europe, and got the world used to the idea of talking
about Arseene Wenger's extraordinary Arsenal.
Read the Arseweb match report, then buy the match, and enjoy...

2005 FA Cup final
Not the best of games, perhaps (see report). But it was fun anyway in a
different kind of way. After being mugged ourselves by Liverpool a
couple of seasons earlier, it didn't feel totally
undeserved when we did it ourselves! Perhaps a bit of a shame that it was
Man Utd that we mugged rather than getting our revenge on Liverpool.

Also available on DVD are:
The 1979 FA Cup final
Arsenal's amazing 3-2 win over Man Utd, featuring 3 late goals.
Without doubt the most dramatic FA Cup final ever, and
a must for any Arsenal fan!
- The 1971 FA Cup final
Arsenal's 2-1 win over Liverpool: the match that sealed our first
league and cup double. Arsenal had to come from behind in extra time
with goals from George Graham and then the famous Charlie George
winner (and celebration) that's become such a classic football
image.
Player-based tapes and DVDs
- Centurions Bergkamp & Henry:
DVD and
VIDEO
Celebrating the fact that these 2 incredible strikers have each
reached the hundred mark, this tape/DVD features a ton from each of
them. Dennis reached the mark against Oxford United in the FA Cup, and
a week later Henry also got there when he hit 2 past Birmingham
in the Premiership. This double set features all those goals, and
with this pair you know there aren't going to be many
tap-ins! It also has exclusive interviews with both players.
See also Kevin Lovegrove's review.

- Sol Man. Sol Campbell's story:
DVD and
VIDEO
Fascinating documentary in which Campbell sets the record
straight, talking about his controversial North London switch
from boyhood club Spurs to bitter rivals Arsenal, the absurd
reactions to it, and how it helped make him a better man
and a better player.
He also reveals an inside view of his incredible first season with
Arsenal, as he went from trophy no-hoper with Tottenham to playing
a key role in helpging the Gunners capture their second double in
four years. Sol also recounts his experiences with the national team in two World Cup Finals.

- The Wonder Years:
VIDEO
-

1989-1999s.
A celebration of a spectacular decade, presented by
celebrity Gooner and ArseWeb fan
Alan Davies. The decade began with Arsenal as reigning
league champions after Michael Thomas scored one of the most
famous goals in football history. The 10 years that followed proved
to be the most successful in the club's history - two more
championships, FA and League Cup triumphs, European glory and
of course, the Double.
|
- Fever Pitch:
DVD
-

The film of Nick Nornby's classic book. Ostensibly a love story based around a football game, to an Arsenal fan it's more of a movie about a football game with a bit of romance thrown in so you can pretend it's a chick-flick and get the non-football fan girlfriend to watch it too. Having done so, she'll probably want to watch the DVD of the match, too.
