The end of replays: This season the FA Cup final will not go to a replay. It will finish at the first attempt with extra-time and, if necessary, penalties.
It is likely that next season will see the end of FA Cup replays altogether. The FA is worried about fixture congestion (which will be added to by the UEFA competitions shake-up) and this is one possible solution.
