Arsenal youth team matchSouthern Junior Floodlit Cup, 25th February 1997Arsenal 3 Bristol City 0In answer to Bernard's enquiry about this match: the Southern Juniours Floodlit semi-final, we beat Bristol City 3-0. It was very one-sided and we should've had more, but our finishing let us down. I'm afraid I was not my usual observant self plus all the numbers got changed so I can't tell you who scored except the first two were from defenders at set-peices! The only players who stood out were Terry Bowes, who could prove to be the new Paul Merson (and no I am not adopting him, as I only foster players who are being fan-abused and I suspect he will get a good following a la Hughes) and the goalie - Lee Richardson who for a shortarse was very composed.I don't know where, when or who about the final, but I shall try to go as it would be nice to see Arsenal win something this year! It may be against QPR as there were some young guys (players?) in QPR gear watching the match. Finally I'd just like to say that spectators were housed in the upper west tier (for only 3 pounds) and blimey is it a good view. I am a loyal clockender myself, but I am now looking forward to getting old, crabby and wealthier so that I can move up there and moan about how none of this midfield could hold a candle to old Vieira! report by Peter Swingewood copyright belongs to original author where credited. otherwise © Rupert Ward, ArseWeb MMV ArseWeb is NOT the official Arsenal site.
