After the stuttering start described above, Arsenal got their act together with a reassuringly convincing defeat of third division side Raufoss. Wright scored a hattrick, Merson & Campbell 2 each, and Dickov and Carter one apiece.

As you probably know Arsenal lost 1-0 to Lyn some days ago. Lyn is a 1st division team (we have a Premier League as well as in England), and the play in our capital Oslo on Ullevaal Stadium, the national arena. Ian Wright had a couple of good chances in the first half, but he headed over and shot wide. Arsenal made 6 substitutions at half time, and even Jimmy Carter started the game. Lyn`s goal in the 70th minute was a rather soft one from a corner. Arsenal will play two more games in Norway; against Raufoss (a lower-league division team) on the 31st of July and Stromsgodset in Drammen (a Premier League team) two days later.
