From today's Sun...
An FA insider said "Supporters will be waving tenners in the air wherever he plays."Grobbelaar was warned to expect an "immense amount of stick" from the 1,000 Arsenal fans expected to the Dell for the fixture
Mike Francis editor of the Gooner said "He is going to face hostile fans. It won't be like in Zimbabwe. He is pretty brave to play on - if he makes a mistake the taunts will be incredible" Francis said fans of all teams are "bemused and upset" that Grobelaar risked throwing away the honour and rewards of his glittering soccer career to fix matches.
Editor of the Saints fanzine The Ugly Inside points out such trivelling little matters like innocent until proving guilty. He points out that the Saints fans will be right behind him. Assumedly thats just in case Bruce lets one slip through.
However, Ian's booking in the match means he has amassed enough disciplinary points to have to serve a 3-match suspension. A blow for Arsenal since once again we seem dependent on Wright for goals, and a blow for Wright himself since the national coach is not permitted to select players who are currently suspended from club football. Ian will be left out of the side to face Nigeria at Wembley next month. As if that weren't bad enough, he picked up a groin strain in the match, going off at half-time, which could keep him out of the next match (against Everton) as well.
Will this mean a chance for Paul Dickov to prove himself....?
The houses have been given the names of Gunners' stars John Jensen, Kevin Campbell, Paul Davis and Ian Wright.
Woolwich spokesman David Mote explained the names had been chosen because Arsenal's Highbury ground is close to the company's former headquarters in Islington. He said the company had not considered the large numbers of Tottenham fans in Harlow when choosing the house names. However, he added "it hasn't really stopped people from buying; these things get blown out of all proportion.
"At the end of the day its the houses that people come to see."
