Preview
- Arsenal team news
Kanu and Lauren are in Mali for the African Nations Cup.
Dixon, Wright, and Parlour all played midweek for the reserves and
could feature (especially Dixon as Luzhny is a doubt after having to
go off with an injury against Liverpool last week).
But Jeffers limped off with a reaction to his ankle problem in that
midweek game so will not be available. And Adams and Seaman are both
a little way off returning.
- Leeds_United team news
Leeds have afew players who have been out for a while, many of whom are
now back in light training but not expected to play Arsenal. These
include: Eirik Bakke, Harry Kewell, Robbie Keane, Lucas Radebe and Olivier Dacourt. Michael Bridges will be out for a bit longer.
Rio Ferdinand is however is with a shout. He suffered a nasty ankle injury in
the FA Cup loss to Cardiff 2 weeks ago, and was expected to be out for a month.
But he returned to training ahead of schedule during the week and could
partner Woodgate in defence. If he's not available, Dominic Matteo will probably
take that slot.
Alan Smith could be suspended, following his sending off at Cardiff.
It depends on the result of his appeal which is due to be heard
on Thursday. There's a good chance he'll get a reprieve as the played he
was alleged to have elbowed has pledged his support, and the ref has
agreed that the incident should be reviewed.
Danny Mills will be available, his suspension for the sending off at Newcastle
starts after the Arsenal game.
update Thursday
Alan Smith's appeal has failed so he's out of the match.
