Boleyn Ground. Saturday 15th December 2001
FA Carling Premiership
Preview
- Arsenal team news
Adams and Dixon are in "medium training" and due back around
the end of the month, but not for this one. Jeffers Seaman and
Wright are all also still out.
Freddie's back trouble may well keep him out too.
4th choice keeper Graham Stack got injured in a reserve match on Monday, leading
to 17 year old Craig Holloway's debut as sub in that game. Holloway was
on the bench for the League Cup loss away to Blackburn on
Tuesday, and could be Taylor's deputy at the Boleyn Ground too.
update Friday
Freddie is out. Gio or Edu will probably replace him, but it's not
impossible that Grimandi would come in. Any of those three would
probably come into the centre, with Ray moving to the wing.
update, later on Friday
Ray is now rated doubtful, with a groin strain picked up in training.
Keown and Campbell start, with Upson on the bench. Le Boss says,
"Matthew has played very well in a lot of games, but I feel
he is a little bit tired at the moment and needs a breather.
I wanted to give Matthew a good run to see how he coped and he
has convinced me a lot. I think his displays this season have
shown everybody that he is a real Arsenal player."
Yes, indeed.
- West_Ham_United team news
Kanoute has been out injured but resumed training this week and
could be back, presumably at the expense of Jermaine Defoe.
Probable team: James, Schemmel, Repka, Dailly, Winterburn, Sinclair, Carrick, Hutchison, Cole, Di Canio, Kanoute.
update Friday
Glenn Roeder has not yet decided who will partner
Di Canio. See Daily Soccer
The injured Steve Lomas and John Moncur are expected back soon, but not yet.
