- Arsenal team news
Adams, Dixon, Jeffers, Seaman, and Wright are joined on
the injury list by Freddie Ljungberg, who sufferred a
mystery back complaint against Villa on Sunday, having
to be subbed at half time.
As expected, several players are being rested, reports
suggest that the list includes
Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp, Sol Campbell,
Lauren, Ashley Cole, and Ray Parlour.
Upson, Taylor, Keown, Wiltord, Kanu, and Grimandi are all
in the squad however. Likely starters include Edu, Gio,
and Pennant.
- Blackburn_Rovers team news
Flitcroft and Bjornebye missed the match against Leeds
on Sunday and could be out of this one too.
According to the official Rovers siote,
they have named a full-strength squad for the Arsenal visit.
Which rather contradicts this page fromt he same site,
which confirms the absence of Flitcroft (torn groin) and Bjornebye (calf),
as well as utility defender Lucas Neill. The squad is listed on this page as:
Friedel, Filan, Short, Berg, Johansson, Johnson, Taylor, Duff, Gillespie, Tugay, Dunn, Jansen, Hughes, Grabbi, Curtis, Mahon, Hignett, Ostenstad
It looks like maybe Phil Parkes' "full strength" comment just means they're
not using their reserves (in the manner, for example, of a large club
with better things to do).
- UK TV/Radio coverage
Live on ITV Sport channel (digital only)
- non-UK TV coverage
- Israel: the match was going to be live on
channel 56 satelite and channel 500 cable
(and on in the Underground and Tavern pubs in Eilat),
but because of Eyal Berkovic they've decided to show the Man City vs Wolves
match instead.
(thanks to Andy for the info)
