Highbury. Sunday 4th November 2001
FA Carling Premiership
Preview
- Arsenal team news
Defensive worries: Adams is still not back and both Upson and Campbell
got hamstrung on Tuesday. Campbell could be ok for Charlton but Matty is
out for 3 weeks or so. If Sol doesn't make it, Keown will presumably partner
Grimandi, Luzhny, or Stepanovs.
At least Cole is back. He completed 90 minutes against Schalke, but didn't
look too sharp.
Lauren and Vieiras were said to have missed the German trip through injury,
but we suspect that the injuries will be slight enough that they can return
for this game.
Other absentees: Dixon, Seaman, Jeffers.
- Charlton_Athletic team news
The following are all said to be injured: Kishishev, Svensson, Rufus,
Pringle, Youds. Stuart and Salako are doubts.
Mendonca could return to the first team having completed 90 minutes for the
reserves in midweek. Salako scored the goal in that match and could be in contention.
Defender Andy Todd was involved in a training ground incident that
has seen him transfer listed and omitted from the Addicks' last
two Premiership matches. Stories that he has apologised and been forgiven are
denied by the club.
update Friday
Graham Stuart's problem is a knee injury. John Salako has just moved to Reading
for a month's loan while he regains fitness after a knee op.
