  • Arsenal team news
It's not impossible that Alex Manninger will return for this game. He played 90 minutes of a reserve match in midweek. There's a possibility that Wenger will want to wait, but he may feel it necessary to test Alex before the Spartak game next week, and he may feel it necessary to rest Lukic for that game too.
Robert Pires is also available again, also having played for the reserves on Tuesday.
Vieira is a doubt, having returned from international duty with an ankle problem. And Henry withdrew from the squad for that match with a groin problem so must also be doubtful.
Ashley Cole could get the nod ahead of Silvinho since the Brasilian didn't look at all himself against Derby last week. But Silvinho has had a week off since then, not having played in Brasil's match in midweek.
Latest on Tony Adams is that he'll be out till the Newcastle game at the earliest (Dec 9th).

    update Friday
    It gets worse...
In addition to the above, Arsenal are missing Grimandi (knee injury), Lauren (ditto), and Vivas (thigh). Parlour is 50-50 having picked up a slight hamstring strain on england duty. Silvinho Henry and Vieira are confirmed absentees.
Wenger has actually said that Mnninger will start against Everton, and that this is his chance to show that he's a worthy successor to Seaman. If Alex performs well while Dave is out for this spell, then Arsenal will stop looking for another keeper.

  • Everton team news
According to Teamtalk, Steve Watson and Paul Gascoigne are expected to return, having missed the win over Bradford last weekend. Gazza will probably replace suspended Dane Thomas Gravesen. Young left-back and formerly alleged Arsenal target Michael Ball has been replaced by Gary Naysmith in Everton's last 2 games. Naysmith is doubtful as he's had the flu this week.
Portuguese international defender Xavier is out. He needs a knee operation and will be missing for at least a month. Meanwhile he's busy pissing his employers off for not supporting him over a 9 match international ban. Hard to see what they could have said, we all saw him getting aggressive with the ref when he was sent off amid disgraceful scenes at the Euro2000 semi final.
Duncan Ferguson and Richard Gough are both said to be behind schedule with their returns from injuries, and unlikely to feature in an Everton team before the middle of December.
American striker Joe-Max Moore is off on international duty, but could be back in time for the Arsenal match.
Franics Jeffers is also on the long-term injury list, as is Niclas Alexanderssen and Alessandro Pistone.
Arsenal old-boys Hughes and Campbell will presumably feature, possibly along with "clothesline" Limpar's old pal Pembridge (takes you back, eh?).
